In 1992 I had the bright idea that persons in the church and wider community who were addicts/alcoholics needed to hear a message of Hope on the number one gospel station in the nation. I had about four years clean so I followed the Spirit and called my friend Mary Claybourne, known in Baltimore as The Church Lady. She worked at the station, WCAO 600a.m., as an on air personality and was the one who made it possible for me to begin my radio career.
For 25 years we have been bringing a message of Hope to addicts/alcoholics and their families on Saturday at 7:30am for a half hour. Testimonies of recovering persons, counselors, doctors, treatment providers, family members and mental health providers are interviewed to inspire and educate listeners.
You can hear broadcasts online through our website. We have helped thousands of people and built our church, Hope Alive Ministry Deliverance Fellowship 2308 N. Fulton Ave., Baltimore, Md., through the recovery radio broadcast.
Anyone can listen without being judged and learn where to get help.
The broadcast has literally saved lives.
